  10. FAQs

1. What is an ABHA card?

The Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) card is a digital health ID. It includes:

  • Your name, photo and date of birth
  • Your 14-digit ABHA number
  • Your ABHA address, if you have created one
  • A QR code that can be scanned to share your basic ID details

The ABHA number links your health records across hospitals, labs and other healthcare providers that are part of ABDM. The card is only an ID. It is not a health insurance card, and it is different from the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY card.

2. What you need before you start

  • A phone or computer with an internet connection
  • Your Aadhaar number or ABHA number, depending on the method you choose
  • The mobile number linked to your Aadhaar or ABHA, so you can receive the OTP
  • A safe place to save the PDF

Only use the official website, abha.abdm.gov.in. The official download is free, and you should never pay a third party or share your OTP with anyone.

3. How to download your ABHA card by Aadhaar number

  1. Open abha.abdm.gov.in in your browser.
  2. Choose the option to log in or download your ABHA card.
  3. Select Aadhaar as the login method and enter your Aadhaar number.
  4. Enter the OTP sent to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
  5. Once you are logged in, open your ABHA profile and select Download ABHA card.
  6. Save the PDF.

This method works best if your Aadhaar-linked mobile number is active.

4. How to download your ABHA card by ABHA number

  1. Open abha.abdm.gov.in.
  2. Choose the login option that uses your ABHA number and enter your 14-digit number.
  3. Verify with the OTP. This goes to the mobile number linked to your ABHA or Aadhaar, depending on how your account was created.
  4. Open your profile and choose Download ABHA card.
  5. Save the PDF.

If you don't remember your ABHA number, use the Aadhaar method instead and look it up in your profile.

5. How to download your ABHA card by mobile number

  1. Open abha.abdm.gov.in.
  2. Choose the mobile number login option, if it appears.
  3. Enter the mobile number linked to your ABHA and the OTP you receive.
  4. Open your profile and select Download ABHA card.
  5. Save the PDF.

This only works if that mobile number is already linked to your ABHA account. If it isn't, use the Aadhaar or ABHA number method.

Note: The portal's login options and screen names can change over time. If you don't see one of these options, use the other methods listed above.

6. Health ID card vs ABHA card

The ABHA number replaced the earlier Health ID. If you created a Health ID before, your details were moved to ABHA. If you still have an old Health ID card, log in to the official portal and check your account. Your updated ABHA card can be downloaded from there.

7. ABHA card registration and online apply

If you don't have an ABHA number yet, you can create one for free on the official ABDM portal, abha.abdm.gov.in. Depending on the options available, you can sign up using your Aadhaar or other supported documents, and you will need a mobile number for OTP verification. After your account is created, you can download your ABHA card PDF using the steps above.

Registration is done only on official ABDM or government channels. PixDok does not create or issue ABHA numbers.

8. Common problems and fixes

  • OTP not received: check that you have a network signal, then wait a minute and request it again. Make sure you are using the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar or ABHA.
  • Mobile number not linked: you may need to update the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, or use another login method.
  • Wrong or forgotten ABHA number: log in with Aadhaar to see your ABHA number in your profile.
  • Download button not working: try another browser, clear the cache, or try again later.
  • Blurry QR code on a screenshot: always use the original PDF, not a screenshot.

9. How to print your ABHA card on PVC

The PDF you download is a full A4 page. You can print it on paper, but it creases and fades quickly. A PVC card is more durable and fits easily in your wallet next to your Aadhaar, PAN and driving licence.

To make one:

  1. Upload your ABHA PDF to the ABHA Card to PVC converter.
  2. Crop the card and align the front and back.
  3. Download the print-ready PNG or A4 PDF, sized for standard CR80 cards (85.60 × 53.98 mm).
  4. Print it on a PVC card printer, or take the file to a local print shop or CSC centre.

A normal paper printer cannot print directly onto PVC. A PVC print is a convenience copy of your digital card and doesn't change your official ABHA account.
